Kate Collins Interiors is a full-service interior design firm located in Los Altos, California. Kate’s unique talent lies with textile mixing, creating beautifully layered designs. She seamlessly blends modern and traditional elements, combining old with new for a timeless and storied yet fresh look. She resides and works with clients in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Growing up in a California adobe home filled with family heirlooms, worldly antiques and large modern abstracts, Kate was immersed in a rich tapestry of patterns and unique design influences. One of her core childhood memories is visiting the Tate Modern in second grade with her father who couldn’t wait to show her iconic modern masterpieces which Kate adored. Contrastingly, her first debut into design, in fourth grade, was her own bedroom, when she insisted on a green floral Laura Ashley print, rooted in traditionalism. Thus began Kate’s great love of the mix.

In 2009, she began an Interior Design blog, which lead to her first client - a Chicago apartment she furnished with both retail and charming flea market finds. Her business has grown substantially since those first days but she will never grow out of the flea market, auction, and estate sale hunt. It is her greatest joy to find the perfect unique piece. Some of her prized finds include iron chiavari outdoor chairs, a french bamboo chinoiserie armoire and a funky little white plaster crab.

Kate is passionate about telling her clients’ stories through their homes. She believes your space should reflect you, making it essential for her to discover, curate and create what you love. Known for being a great listener and a creative problem solver, Kate takes the time to understand your lifestyle, preference and needs. From there, she designs a space that suits you perfectly. Her ultimate goal is to make your house feel like your home - a place that’s distinctly yours.
